English Conversation Class – every Tuesday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm or Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for men and women of different cultures.
LEAD Program: Certificate program offered in partnership with the Pacific Immigrant Resources Society; designed to assist immigrant women gain confidence in their ability to participate in an English-speaking, Canadian context. Spring and Fall sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday for 14 weeks from 12:30pm to 2:30 pm.
Women's Group Meeting: Guest speakers cover a variety of topics important to women and their families; held every third week of the month from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Volunteer Opportunities: Office receptionist and social events assistant positions available. Please join our Society to gain knowledge and experience in your community.
Settlement Services: Offered to newcomers in 12 languages, covering information on housing, health care, education, settlement, adaptation, transportation and much more.
Pre-employment Services: Facilitates career planning for newcomer clients, and liaises with participating employees and agencies in the community.
Grandparenting Program: Designed to empower grandparents to lead a healthy and productive life while taking care of their grandchildren; weekly Filipino, South Asian and Chinese sessions available.
YES Program: Designed for youth 15-25 years old, who arrived in Canada in the last 5 years and are in need of settlement support. Provides job training, educational counseling, recreational and sports activities, access to computers and connection to the community.
Safe Harbour: 2-hour training session designed to create an understanding of diversity, cover issues of inclusion/exclusion and provide participants insight into how diverse community members might experience living in their community.
Surfing Grannies: Certificate program offered in partnership with Microsoft Canada Development Centre. Free, basic computer classes for Seniors held over 6 consecutive Saturdays.
Chai at Chaupal: Free program for South Asians seniors to relax over tea, share ideas and discuss their opinions on various topics.
